"Macintosh" Internet Access via Modem

Date: 17. Dec. 1996

There are currently two methods of Internet access:

  • via MacTCP and FreePPP

  • via Open Transport

Open Transport is the latest software and it is thought that after System 8 MacTCP will no longer be supported. Certainly Open Transport will be an option of MacOS.
Both possibilities function equally well and it is naturally sensible to install the software that one has.
N.B. Apple does not recommend Open Transport for all operating systems i.e. not for 7.5.1 or 7.5.2
