PMC: • • • Ehm˙ • • I didn't/ didn't have any ambitions. ((breathes in)) Eh, the/ there was nothing I particularly wanted to be really. ((breathes in)) Cause I was at school. • • • For a bit. ((breathes in)) (Until)/ til I was eighteen. • • And, eh ((1,5s)) then I just left school and I still didn't have any ambition, or any idea what I was gonna be. ((breathes in)) Eh, we went into the group. ((breathes in)) Eh, you know, I went into the group and ehm we played around for a bit. ((breathes in)) And, only after a bit • eh must 've realised that this was the only ambition I'd really ever had. • • • Nothing else. 
INT: • • • Do you wanna continue this for the rest of your life, let's say: a musical career? 
PMC: ((1s)) (Me) I don't know really ((laughs)) ehm˙ • • • I just wanna be able to do what I want to do. • • And so, you know, at/ • • at this moment this is what I want to do. • • • I may/ I may change later. I may just get fed up and not wanna do that, maybe wanna do something else. Of all the groups now in England and eh, • ever since, eh, let's say, the advent of the Beatles, since we came to know the Beatles here in A/ here in Aamerica, ((breathes in)) of all the groups that have formed thereafter, • • • what would be your favourite group • • eh˙ • • • group?

PMC: • No, I can't/ I can't get one in there. ((breathes in)) I think ehm ((1,4s)) the Animals • favourite group really. ((breathes in)) (Only they)/ they're quite recent compared to a lot of the groups. ((breathes in)) I mean they've been going long, but they've only • come to the forefront recently. ((breathes in)) Animals, the Searchers, the Rolling Stones. • • • Ehm˙ • a lot, you know.

((breathes in)) When you see these eh fantastic acts of admiration for you, such as, I don't know if you're aware of this, but, in Milwaukee, a youngster eh threw a rope • with a hook on it • up to a ledge and tried to climb up to your floor. Does this… Ehm… • I know you enjoy eh the/ your fans' admiration • of/ of your work. But does this ever bother you that they maybe hurt or eh ((breathes in)) eh˙ • • that they're going a little bit too far maybe? 
PMC: • • • Well it bothers us if they're gonna get hurt, you know. ((breathes in)) Cause actually some of them do ridiculous things, (ye know). ((breathes in)) There was a fellow, he wa/ he wasn't so much a fan, he was a/ a fellow from Liverpool. This was whi/ (whilst) we were in Australia. We were in Sydney and we were on about thee eh • twelfth floor. • ((breathes in)) And he climbed right up the side of the building, from balcony to balcony. Twelve floors. God!
