A number of scholarly publications are edited or coordinated by the HLCES. Among them are:

• Encyclopaedia Aethiopica, with the fourth volume completed in 2010;
  
• Manuscript Catalogues for Ethiopic and Coptic manuscripts;
  
• Aethiopistische Forschungen monographic series with 70 volumes in 2011;
  
• Orientalia Biblica et Christiana monographic series with 18 volumes in 2011;
  
• Aethiopica journal, with 13 issues in 2010;
  
• Comparative Oriental Manuscript Studies Newsletter, second issue to appear in 2011.
